Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is looking for a network coordinator who will lead and coordinate the work of the H2H Network and the newly established funding platform for the H2H members.
As the H2H Network Coordinator you will be responsible for day-to-day supervision of the H2H Network Team funding platform. H2H is a network of over 25 organisations that was established in 2016, with a purpose of enabling the humanitarian sector to efficiently and effectively assist and protect people affected by disasters. The network members provide services within three broad categories:
Operational support (including information management and services such as data collection, analysis and mapping; AAP; surge capacity; logistics and security management)
Standard setting and guidance
A funding platform is being established for the H2H network that will enable its members to access funding for quick and quality provision of the above outlined services to the broader humanitarian community. More information on the H2H can be accessed on: https://www.h2hworks.org/.
About the job
The position will be based in Geneva, Switzerland, and post holder will lead on the establishment of the funding platform, jointly with a team, consisting of a finance officer, programme adviser, and a quality and compliance officer. The post holder will be responsible for the daily supervision of this dynamic team and will coordinate the work of the funding platform for the H2H members. This position will report to the DRC Head of Programme Division, based in Copenhagen, Denmark throughout the start-up phase of the funding platform. Once the Steering Group is established for the H2H funding platform, network coordinator will be accountable to and will report to the Steering Group Committee.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
Contribution towards establishing the purpose, governance, structure and objectives of the H2H network
Leading on the development of a strategy and work plan to be approved by the membership, including future funding mechanisms
Supporting members with services or activities, as agreed by the membership
Maintaining a strong relationship with donors, ensuring they are kept informed of key decisions and progress against objectives.
Strengthening synergies and areas of interoperability between network members
Supporting any joint deployments by H2H organisations
Promoting and managing the expansion of the network’s membership
Strengthening the link between network members and service-users
Developing platforms for internal and external communication
Coordinating network activities, once defined by the group and according to the work plan
Oversight of the H2H budget
To be successful in this role we expect you to have the relevant experience as outlined below, be an energetic team player who will provide direction to the team and secure timely coordination of the H2H platform activities.
Moreover, we expect the following:
At least 7 years’ experience from the humanitarian sector both at field and HQs levels, with substantial experiences in rolling out and leading processes which introduce new ways of working and collaborating.
Experience with organisational development
Excellent time management skills and ability to organise multiple, simultaneous tasks, and deliver results within a specified period.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and with limited supervision.
Proven ability to work strategically and lead goal setting for projects and process.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Grand Bargain and the humanitarian reform agenda.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and results oriented approach.
Demonstrated capacity for sound judgement to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Demonstrated capacity to actively learn, understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making.
Outstanding coordination, communication, representation and inter-personal skills, including proven capacity to persuade and influence others.

Contract length: open ended (pending funding)

The position is placed in Geneva, Switzerland. The selected candidate will be offered an open ended national contract with a gross salary between 7'344 CHF and 7'632 CHF (as per DRC Geneva Salary Scale, Coordinator level) pending the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
Following Swiss regulations DRC offers accident, illness and travel insurance, while all national staff have to pay tax and social security according to Swiss law and have a Swiss health insurance.
DRC does not provide additional housing or schooling or any other allowances.
