What you will do:
■ You will develop and implement programme and fi-nance strategies.
■ You will work closely with the head of programme funding to acquire and manage earmarked funding from public and private sources.
■ You will lead Johanniters operational international programmes in humanitarian relief and development.
■ You will be responsible for the emergency desk, in-cluding management of disaster response with Jo-hanniter volunteers, e.g. as part of an EMT mission.
■ You will manage the programme department team in Germany and abroad.
■ You will have operational responsibility for the crisis management in the event of disasters.
■ You will represent Johanniter internally and externally.
What you bring:
■ Relevant university degree
■ At least 10 years’ experience in humanitarian relief and development cooperation, some of which in pro-ject management overseas, ideally also in working with partner organisations
■ Experience in the development and implementation of programme and funding strategies
■ Staff management experience, incl. leading over a distance in matrix management set ups
■ Experience in planning and implementation of organi-sational development and change processes
■ Fluent in German and English; good knowledge of French and Spanish will be an asset
■ Strategic and analytical thinking combined with a drive to shape the organisation.
■ Ability to deal with conflicts, manage resistance, being able to remain focused and cope with frustrations.
■ Excellent communication skills
■ Willingness to travel into crisis areas
